Choice

Dear ML, in the last line of your latest post it reminds me again - life is a matter of choice. You can decide how you live your life. You can choose to be happy.

In a lot of times we simply forget we have this choice but start to blame others - blame colleagues, blame nasty boss, blame fate. But this is all wrong - we all have a choice, and a choice to be happy and live a life we wanna have.

I recently read an article on "SO WHAT?" - we are dumped. SO WHAT? We failed. SO WHAT? This is part of the process and part of the journey in life.

Thank you so much again for the meaningful post. And I will start Jabu and other of my businesses asap.

  1. Would you mind sharing the article "So What?"

Actually yesterday I heard that another person in my old office in HK quit (within less than 4 months of being there). This made me smile to myself because it further validated something - my former coworkers thought I was being immature and rash for quitting...seeking to blame me and not taking responsibility for their own failures...

But in the end, it doesn't matter. I made the choice for myself. I was unhappy, and I wanted to break the chain of unhappiness. And as much as I can blame this unhappiness on my former coworkers (well, they did play a part)...I can take responsibility for my own life and shed the unnecessary negativity.

Can't say I'm 100% happy yet, but who really is? I'm living, I'm learning...I'm feeling it out. I'm slowly learning what matters most to me in life and what I want out of it... and one day I will find that "passion" of mine and share it with the world. It's only a matter of time.

I am so excited for you and your business ventures! Keep me updated and also let me know if you want my opinion on anything!

  2. ML, I am so happy for you. You are in the right direction of personal growth, you know so many people are lacking this awareness and keep saying no time for this, too busy with work etc...

To me if one wanna progress, self reflection is important. Likewise equip yourself with the right attitude, like "SO WHAT" and make your decision (sorry the SO WHAT article is very short and in Chinese).

And once you made the decision, stick with it. Do not regret. Make it work.

What is "happiness"? It is not exactly about the outcome but the courage for you to make the decision (hopefully a right one). It is not exactly about how much money / career achievement you have. It is a state of mind, the state where you feel content and happy about what you have and what you experience.

I was having lunch with my ex-colleague just now - so many people are just complaining about their work but not even taking the initiative to look for another job. Useless.

So if you ever wanna a change, be your own boss and do make a change.

Yes will keep you posted on the business venture and will really need your input later on. THANKS in advance!!!

    xoxo
